In October 2001, the Domäne leased the Hofgut Gassenbach in Idstein. With this former Naturland-certified farm we have considerably extended the production of our farming and pastural agriculture, cattle farming, goat and geese keeping, and fruit growing.

The extensive renovation of the old buildings consistently adheres to the principles of building biology. We first began with the farmhouse which was built in 1811/12 using a pisé technique (walls made of rammed clay). Clay walls even out the fluctuations in humidity, the cold and the heat, thus making interior rooms feel more comfortable. Clay-plastered walls, exposed wood framing and handmade ceramic tiles contribute to a unique atmosphere in this historic building.

One part of the estate is reserved for the recently established farmshop that sells the Domäne's well-known product range. Other parts hold a café and a restaurant. In addition to the renovation of the old stable and barn building, new stalls will be constructed for chickens, goats and cattle.
